Woody Woodfin

Street 2 Street’s Founder and President Woody Woodfin grew up in Dade County, a rural outpost in the corner of Georgia. Back in the day, if Woody had mentioned the idea of moving to NYC, the response might have been “You can’t get there from here.”

Fortunately, Woody is not easily discouraged. To be sure, there are many differences between the bucolic mountains of Georgia and the urban universe of NYC. But when Woody heard the call, he recognized the denominator shared by Dixie Youth League baseball kids and inner-city streetballers alike – the hunger to be a champion. His unique vision for reaching these kids – many of them disadvantaged in ways unimaginable to most Americans – grew from his own background as a college athlete and his extensive experience with Student Venture, the high school ministry of Campus Crusade.

Woody, his wife Renee, and his children Abbey, Allison and Will moved to the NYC area in 2002. He is Street 2 Street’s primary fundraiser (particularly focused on connecting Wall Street executives to urban kids), he leads the staff, recruits volunteers, and tends to a myriad of tournament details.

Daniel Sanabria

Daniel Sanabria, Street 2 Street’s NYC Director, knows first-hand the impact one person can have on the life of a young man. As a high school student, Danny suffered self- esteem issues, depression and grew distant from friends and family. At a critical juncture, a teacher at his Christian school invested time and spoke wisdom to Danny and helped change his life. Today Danny serves as Youth Director of Crossover Youth Ministries at Park Slope Christian Tabernacle. He is also the co-founder of Urban Kingdom Youth Ministries, a project geared toward enhancing fellowship among youth directors, pastors and ministries reaching youth across the tri-state area. For his work with Street 2 Street, Danny helps determine areas of optimum impact for our tournaments in the context of neighborhood response and the availability of local ministries to disciple respondents. He serves as a community liaison to connect those ministry resources with Street 2 Street. Danny and his wife Diane live in Brooklyn.
